Welcome to doolit ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("App").

By using doolit, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our App.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

Account Information: Name and email address when you create an account
Profile Information: Profile photo, bio (limited to 100 characters)
Social Links: Links to your social media profiles (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X/Twitter, Facebook, Spotify)
Payment Links: Links to your payment platforms (Venmo, Cash App, PayPal)
Exit Feedback: If you delete your account, the reason you select and any optional comment you provide

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

Location Data: Precise location to enable map features, gem discovery, and event attendance verification
Usage Data: Gems collected, badges earned, XP points, Explorer Rank progression, daily activity statistics
Analytics Data: In-app events such as gem collections, quest completions, streaks, and feature usage, collected via Google Analytics for Firebase (configured without advertising identifiers)
Crash Data: Crash logs and device state at the time of a crash, collected via Firebase Crashlytics to help us fix problems
Push Token: A device token used to deliver push notifications you have opted into
Device Information: Device type and operating system, for app functionality

2.3 Information from Third-Party Services

If you choose to sign in using third-party services, we may receive:

Google Sign-In: Name, email address, profile photo
Apple Sign-In: Name, email address (you may choose to hide your email)

We do NOT use your data for third-party advertising, selling to data brokers, or cross-app tracking.

4. Location Data

doolit uses your precise location for core app features:

Displaying your position on the map
Discovering gems in your area
Verifying attendance at artist events for badge collection
Finding Aether gems and earning golden keys

Location data is collected only when the App is in use and you have granted location permissions. You can disable location access in your device settings, but this will limit app functionality.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

5.1 Public Profile Information

The following information may be visible to other doolit users: your name and profile photo, your bio, your social media and payment links, and your badges and Explorer Rank (for artists).

5.2 Third-Party Service Providers

We use the following services to operate the App. Each has its own privacy policy governing its use of information:

Firebase (Google): Authentication, database storage, file storage, push notifications (Cloud Messaging), analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase), and crash reporting (Crashlytics)
Google Maps Platform: Map display and related map services
Apple: Sign in with Apple authentication

5.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests by public authorities.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on Firebase (Google Cloud) servers. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure; while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes. If you delete your account, we retain your exit feedback (the deletion reason and any optional comment) to improve the App.

Access: View your profile information in the App settings
Update: Edit your name, bio, photo, and links at any time
Delete: Delete your account and associated data directly in the App (Settings → Account → Delete Account)
Location: Control location permissions through your device settings
Notifications: Control push notifications in the App settings or your device settings
Portability: Request a copy of your data

9. Children's Privacy

doolit is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete such information.

10. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those of your country. By using our App, you consent to the transfer of your information to these countries.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically.

12. California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA): the right to know what personal information is collected; the right to know if personal information is sold or disclosed (we do not sell your data); the right to opt out of the sale of personal information; and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.
